In the reform and opening up came into being

　　"Before the reform and opening up, China did not have the term 'industrial design'。At that time, our country's products, "silly black and thick" is their synonymous, especially in the field of equipment manufacturing, but also lack of industrial design。In August 2018, Zhu Tao, former president of the China Industrial Design Association, was introduced in an interview with a reporter from the China Industry News。In the first ten years of reform and opening up, along with the opening of the country, Chinese people's ideas and concepts changed, the country and society gradually realized the importance of industrial design, and China's industrial design also began to develop。

　　In the context of The Times, the spring breeze of reform and opening up is also blowing the Jingong campus。According to the overall strategic layout of the school's multi-disciplinary development, in August 1983, with the approval of the former Ministry of Weapons Industry, our school officially established the "Industrial Product Modeling Design Laboratory" in the Basic Department.。In November of the same year, the preparatory group of the Industrial Design Department was established, with Wu Yongjian as the leader。As the earliest pioneers to explore the training of senior design talents in China, the preparatory group at the beginning of its establishment was faced with the "four nots" situation of "no teaching materials, no teachers, no outline and no venue"。To create a career, difficulties are always inevitable, but the Beili workers who inherit the "Yan 'an roots and military soul" rely on an entrepreneurial spirit of hard struggle and unremitting self-improvement to face challenges and forge ahead。The preparatory group organized teachers to go to Hunan University to conduct research and study, collect information and compile curriculum syllabuses and textbooks, and use the funds allocated by the former Ministry of Weapons Industry to build a teaching room of about 300 square meters in the open space opposite the affiliated primary school。
